We are happy to announce the founding and organization of The Doula Network of Fort Wayne Indiana! In July of 2006 the local birth and postpartum doulas began meeting with a shared passion to get good information and support to the birthing community of Fort Wayne and beyond.
While hiring a doula offers families expertise, physical and emotional comfort and support, we understand that hiring a doula may not be for everyone. It is our hope, as it is of doulas everywhere, that birthing famlies have choices and information at their fingertips and are able to explore all birth opportunities.
In aid of our passion we have established the "Links" section of this webpage so that famlies anticipating childbirth and parenting will not walk the journey alone, but will be empowered through knowledge of choices and neverending evidence that birth is a normal process and not a medicalized phenomenon.
Monthly we will be submitting new featured articles written by our own Doulas of Fort Wayne which will highlight an array of birth questions, concerns and other local interests.
